Privacy Policy

What personal data Context Elite collects, why, who processes it, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Context Elite ("we", "us") runs contextelite.com from Switzerland and is responsible for the personal data described here.

For anything about your data, write to engin@oldschool.ag. We apply the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

  • Account: your email address, your name if your sign-in provides one (for example Google), and the user ID our sign-in service gives you. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see them.
  • What you do in the app: companies you follow, your watchlists and saved sets, the questions you ask and the reports you generate.
  • Plans and purchases: your email, your plan and its status, renewal dates, amounts paid, and the reference numbers Stripe gives your customer record, subscription and payments. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
  • M&A List purchases: your email, the purchase record, and that the file was emailed to you.
  • Messages: what you write when you email us.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and give you the features of your plan (performance of our contract with you).
  • To take payments, deliver purchases and keep accounting and tax records (contract and legal obligation).
  • To answer your messages and requests.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

AI processing

When you generate a report or ask the selected calls a question, the text of your question and the company material it covers are sent to OpenAI to produce the answer. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.

The insights, call reports and the M&A List are made from public earnings calls, not from your personal data.

Who processes it for us

  • Google Firebase: sign-in.
  • Netlify: hosting of the website.
  • Vercel: our servers.
  • Neon: our database.
  • Stripe: payments, subscriptions, and the VAT or sales tax added at checkout.
  • Resend: sending emails, such as the M&A List file.
  • OpenAI: generating reports and answers.

Each processes data only to provide its service to us. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Transfers abroad

Several of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where data leaves Switzerland or the EU, we rely on the safeguards the law provides, such as the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and browser storage

  • We use no tracking or advertising cookies and no analytics.
  • Firebase keeps you signed in between visits.
  • Your browser keeps three small settings for us: your colour theme, the watchlist you last opened, and the reference of an M&A List purchase so you can download it again.

All of these are needed for the site to work, so we do not ask for consent. You can delete them in your browser settings at any time; you will then be signed out.

How long we keep it

Account data and what you saved stay as long as your account exists, and are deleted when you ask us to delete your account.

Payment and purchase records are kept for 10 years, as Swiss law requires for business records.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive it in a portable format, or to object to how we use it. Write to engin@oldschool.ag; we answer within 30 days.

You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to the data protection authority of your country.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections, sign-in tokens are checked on our servers, and access to the database is restricted. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach puts it at risk.

Children

Context Elite is a professional service and is not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update it here and change the date below. If a change matters for how we use your data, we will tell signed-in users.
